Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

Yes, it is Dr. Howard's second week on campus and you guessed it: it's SNOWING! I thought he would bring some of that mild Virginia winter weather with him to the Burgh, but I guess Pittsburgh snowfall still has the upper hand.
Well, one thing the snow did not have an effect on over the last month was the number of great alumni events held both on and off campus. Alumni and students were enlightened by alumna Jada Grandy when she visited campus to speak about the importance of mentoring. Grandy is vice president of Fifth Third Bank in Charlotte, N.C. We also heard inspirational words from Ayaan Hirsi Ali who was named one of the most influential people in the world by TIME magazine. Her instructive talk on radical Islam and its suppression of women was fantastic and thought provoking.
As the month proceeded, we had great turnouts for our corporate grassroots luncheons for alumni working at BNY Mellon, Bayer, FedEx and Fisher Scientific. Alumni in attendance got a chance to network with fellow alumni working in the same company while hearing about the awesome RMU graduate programs we offer. Capping off the recent alumni events was the annual Legacy Luncheon. This year we had over 200 people attend which included several prospective students and current RMU students.
As you can see, RMU is on the move, and we hope you will run with us by attending a future event with friends and family.
