Friday, July 29, 2016

greg_storypicWhen he sees his classmates from 40 years ago at Homecoming this fall, Greg Krivacek ‘76 D’16 will have some news for his fellow Colonials. This spring he earned his second Robert Morris degree — a doctorate in instructional management and leadership. Krivacek received his bachelor’s degree in accounting 40 years ago, and after a long and successful professional career now works at RMU as an assistant professor of accounting. His wife, Carol Scicutella, an oncologist at the UPMC CancerCenter in Moon, is on the Board of Visitors at the School of Education and Social Sciences.

“It is evident that Robert Morris University has continually been changing my life and building my future. As a result, I have become a well-rounded individual,” he says. “This second degree has helped me as a parent with my children, and as an instructor with my students, to continue the tradition of helping to change lives and build futures for others."

Krivacek began teaching part-time in the School of Business in 1996. As a certified public accountant and former owner of an accounting and taxation consulting firm, he has the professional experience that makes his classes especially valuable for students. Krivacek sees his time at Robert Morris as a continual experience and says he is now devoting his time to teaching, scholarship, and service. “My hopes and dreams are to continue this journey and continue to grow, and at the same time support RMU as it continues to evolve,” he says.
