Marissa Dubaich ‘15

Tuesday, December 6, 2016

Marissa Dubaich ‘15 is a marketing assistant for Giant Eagle GetGo Cafe + Market brand. Her days consist of coordinating web updates and emails and working with the company's social media accounts. Social media experience and leadership roles at RMU helped prepare her for her job, including promotional chair of the PR Society and secretary of the Student Government Association. “The university allowed me to participate in clubs, organizations, and have real world experience as a student worker in the sports information department along with my internship at the Pittsburgh Steelers,” she says.

As a student and communication major, Marissa was just as involved outside of the classroom as she was inside it, earning the Renaissance Award by fulfilling Student Engagement Program credits. “I always wanted to go out and do things. RMU made me go out and do them,” she says. Now she still stays connected with the students and faculty and supports the athletic teams.

Marissa was a Colonial Crazy, and her favorite RMU memory is the Kentucky game at Sewall Center, which she describes as the best sporting event she’s ever been to. She and her boyfriend, Jeff Towner ‘14, met on campus, and they now have season tickets to football and men's basketball. "I never wanted to leave," she says. "RMU always has a special part of my heart."
