Michelle Gilboy ‘02 began her time as a college student at IUP, but after a hiatus she decided to finish at RMU, getting her degree in information systems management. She says RMU’s classroom focus on professional experiences and communications and presentation was excellent preparation for her career now, working as an Agile coach for Summa Technologies, where she consults with clients, helping them transform their business process and culture.
“As a manager who is hiring people from this region, I’ve found that Robert Morris students are better prepared when it comes to communication and presentation skills than other students in the area,” she says.
Living on Pittsburgh’s North Side, Michelle enjoys teaching zumba in her spare time, as well as kettlebell and yoga. Despite her busy days at Summa and the gym, she still enjoys coming back to campus for events. Michelle is the advisor for RMU's chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority, and she has served as the sorority's international president too.
It's no surprise that Michelle was a hard worker as a student. “Driving home after my last final was the most bittersweet feeling," she says. "Though school drove me crazy sometimes, I loved my RMU undergrad experience. It really impacted me personally and professionally.” She remains a loyal financial supporter of the school, especially for Greek life and leadership programs.
