AOTMFor Jennifer Hensler Nagoda, Robert Morris isn't just a university, it's a family institution. Her ties go back to 1941, when her mother graduated from the Robert Morris Business School in the William Penn Hotel, and her family tree is filled with RMU grads, including several cousins, an aunt, and a brother. However, the most important family connection she made was meeting her husband, Jeff.

She earned bachelor's and master's degrees in business education and was in RMU's first graduating class of master's degree students. "I really experienced the technology evolution," she says, talking about her 36-year teaching career in Norwin School District. At the start of her career, she instructed on manual typewriters, and by the end, she was teaching computer applications.

Some of Jennifer's best university memories include her time with her Gamma Gamma Gamma sorority sisters. They held a spectacular spring formal in a glass room at the Pittsburgh airport, watching the planes coming in as they danced the night away. The most significant event: "He proposed to me on the bench in front of Hale Center, and we will be married for 40 years on October 1." Even the wedding was a Robert Morris affair, with nine wedding party attendants from the university.

Jennifer and Jeff are now happily retired in Irwin. They started coming back to RMU in 2014 for Jennifer's Tri-Gam reunion, and now they return annually for alumni events, including basketball and baseball games. She's eager to see their classmates at the 40th Class Reunion at Homecoming on September 16. "I can't wait," she says. "Each time my husband and I drive up the beautiful winding entrance road to the school, we feel like we are coming home."
