RichK_AOTM_120517As the holiday season approaches, Rich Killian '89 is collaborating with major brands like Dell, Domino’s, Disney, and The Home Depot to sell gift cards. The founder and CEO of RK Incentives, a gift card consulting and sales agency firm in Tampa, Rich says he enjoys working for himself and making his own decisions. He was featured this fall on the cover of Incentive Magazine, about the concerns about gift card fraud and how security is improving in the industry, and how a strong economy is sparking new growth for gift cards.

Rich is a member of the RMU CEO Club, an exclusive group of CEOs, chairpersons, presidents, and company owners who join the RMU President's Council. "Being part of the CEO Club has been a very enriching experience and I’ve been able to stay connected to the other CEOs from Robert Morris," he says. "I have been able to sit at a table with Dr. Howard and have great conversations. I really enjoy giving back to the university."

When he is in town, Rich enjoys going to men’s basketball games and connecting with students on campus. During his last visit, Rich also sat down for coffee with one of his former professors, Dean Manna. And sometimes RMU comes to him, like last month when he attended an alumni wine tasting and networking event in Tampa.

As a student, Rich majored in marketing and played on the tennis team. "I actually enjoyed my classes and I felt like I learned a lot," he says. "I felt like my professors cared and reached out, and they really taught us about what happens in the real business world."
