M.B.A., finishing a Ph.D. in Instructional Management and Leadership
As the director of campus recreation, Armand works closely with the students in an effort to foster a more vibrant campus culture. His favorite initiatives include leading an alternative spring break trip to West Virginia to build houses for the poor, and orchestrating a soccer tournament to help American and international students bond.
Home: Armand got married in July, and he and his wife, Emily, bought a house in McMurray.
Proudest Achievement: "Defending my dissertation -- about the use of Twitter as an effective tool for course review -- was a big moment for me. It took a lot of work and many hours spent with my advisor."
His RMU Story: His parents are a Colonial Couple, so he's the second Armand Buzzelli to get a degree from Robert Morris. His dad was Class of '79, and proposed to Mary O'Brien Buzzelli '80 M'88 on their first date. "At first she thought he was crazy, but thankfully for me they worked it out,” their son says.
Favorite RMU Memory: "As I walked into my first doctoral class, I saw my high school English teacher and realized that we were in the same cohort."
Why He Stays Connected: Being both a student and an employee has given Armand a unique perspective on RMU. "I’ve received such high-quality instruction and such a personalized experience as a student. Seeing the results firsthand has provided me with a lot of faith in the product and has inspired me to be a better employee."
