The RMU Gallup Survey: Robert Morris University

The RMU Gallup® Survey

To make comparisons with Gallup nationwide surveys of more than 30,000 college graduates, in 2014 the polling and analysis firm collected surveys from nearly 1,500 Robert Morris alumni who had earned bachelor’s degrees since 1970.

In addition to questions about college experiences, the online survey asked respondents to rate their level of agreement with statements about their personal and professional lives, such as:

  • At work I have the opportunity to do what I do best every day.*
  • At work my opinions seem to count.*
  • The mission or purpose of my organization makes me feel my job is important.*
  • I have enough money to do everything I want to do.**
  • My friends and family give me positive energy every day.**
  • In the last 12 months, I have received recognition for helping to improve the city or area where I live.**

Research has shown that graduates who experienced what Gallup calls the “Big Six” in college are more likely to be engaged at work and thriving in their personal well-being.
